Monterey County is re-designing its website and would like public input on developing a website that will best serve the needs of residents, business and visitors.


  • The Monterey County Free has launched a special series of events to bring communities together to talk about what it's like to come home from war and what veterans face coming home. The first event in this War Comes Home series is a special event October 10th featuring author Karl Mariantes, Vietnam veteran, scholar and author of the memoir, "What It Is Like To Go To War." You'll find more information about this event and other programs in this special series on the Libraries website..
  • The Ukulele Club of Monterey will be back at the Carmel Valley Branch of the Monterey County Free Libraries on Saturday October 4th for a lively performance and sing-a-long. This program is free to the public, but seating is limited. Call the library at 659-2377 for details. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Carmel Valley Library.
  • The Monterey County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council is hosting a special workshop "Raising Awareness and Connecting Resources to Combat Human Trafficking in Monterey County and Beyond" on October 3rd in Salinas. You'll find more information about the event and how to get tickets here.
  • The Parks Department wants to hear from you! A new survey about park use and ideas for the future is now available online. Click here and take the survey.
