08-24-99 Adopted Ordinance 4036 adding Section 1 Chapter 2.65 creating the Monterey County In- Home supportive Services Public Authority; 06-24-03 Ordinance No. 4191 repealed Section 1 Chapter 2.65 in its entirety and added Section 2 Chapter 2.65 03-26-07 Bylaws Revised 11-02-10 Ordinance to remove term limits.
The Monterey County In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority Advisory Committee consists of Eleven (11) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors; however, no fewer than fifty percent (50%) of t e members of the advisory committee shall be individuals who are current or past users of personal assistance services paid for through public or private funds, or recipients of services under Article 7, Part 3 of Division 9 of the Welfare & Institutions Code.
An additional six (6) committee members will be appointed by the full Board consisting of:
Terms of Office: Shall be for three years. A member may not serve more than a total of six consecutive years on this advisory committee. Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this public authority is to provide for the delivery of the In-Home Supportive Services Program (IHSS) as specified in the Monterey County Code, Chapter 2.65, subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, and to the limitations set forth in Ordinance 4191 Qualifications & Functions: Qualified applicants must reside in Monterey County and have familiarity with, or knowledge of, personal assistance services; the capacity to understand their role to aid and assist the advisory committee in the administration of its duties; and the ability to attend regularly scheduled meetings which shall occur only in facilities which meet disability access requirements.
